Enhancing Elderly Care Through Telepresence Robots

The primary objective of this project is to explore the applications and potential benefits of telepresence robots in providing support and companionship for the elderly. Students will investigate how telepresence technology can be effectively integrated into elderly care settings to enhance social interaction, reduce isolation, and improve overall well-being.

The aim of the project

This project aims to explore the potential applications of telepresence robots in providing support and companionship for the elderly. The project structure encompasses a thorough literature review, needs assessment, and stakeholder interviews to identify specific requirements and preferences. Students will then delve into the exploration of telepresence robot technologies. User testing with elderly individuals will assess usability and effectiveness, while an investigation into social and ethical considerations will contribute to the responsible deployment of this technology. The project's comprehensive documentation and reporting will provide valuable insights and recommendations for the integration of telepresence robots in elderly care settings.
