The project is built around the subject of multiculturalism and its connection to multilingualism, education, as well as language planning and policies. It addresses cultural and educational challenges associated with globalization and draws parallels between students' home countries and other multicultural regions worldwide.
Project carried out fully in English to promote TLU's English language programmes among international prospective students.
Together with EdTech entrepreneurs, we are prototyping a cool future practicum (augmented reality, virtual reality, robots, etc.) for the lecturer of our specialty.
Participants are instructed to produce 10-minutes videos of liaison (dialogue) interpreting scenarios in public settings (police, court, social, educational, medical settings, etc.). To meet students´ needs of autonomy, competence and relatedness they are encouraged to create their own interpreting situations (citizen-interpreter-public official) in various languages. The language of instruction is English.

Making our World easier for all! The challenge is to propose a digital technology-based solution focused on this year's WUD theme: The Design of our Online World: Trust, Ethics and Inclusion. Each team has to find an Estonian organisation who needs some sort of digital technology-related solution: a website, an app, a platform, etc... Each team has to find out the organisation's needs and create a prototype of a digital technology-enabled solution accordingly. The project is grounded on interaction design as a process. Students will have the opportunity to engage with field research, user research, generative research and prototyping methods. The team or teams will be guided through the stages of an interaction design project leading to a prototype as a proof of concept. The outcome of your work will be communicated through an actionable interaction design prototype.
